Miaka, Tamahome, Yui--- Ring-a-bell?
These are the famous three characters in our act here, Fushigi Yugi. 90s kids missed half of their lives if they hadn't watched this series when it was aired in the Philippines. I remember me and my classmates rushing our ways home after class just so we won't miss one episode.=)
Fushigi Yugi, aka the Mysterious Play, is a story of 2 junior high girls who were transported into the old Chinese era by a novel "The Universe of the Four Gods" while browsing through library books.
Miaka Yuki, the protagonist, became the priestess of Suzaku while Yui Hongo, her bestfriend, became the priestess of Seiryuu. Both of the two girls were tasked to summon the gods of each respective kingdoms in order for 3 of their wishes to be granted. Summoning the gods required the two to hasten in gathering each of their seven celestial warriors while going thru different circumstances. Miaka fell in love with one of her warriors, Tamahome, and had their own romantic story that Yui avenged for (being in love with the later). The two friends became two opposing priestesses. And so the story goes...
THE PICTURES I'm posting here were taken last Nov. 3 at the Chinese Garden. I was invited to portray Yui Hongo priestess version but since I figured I'm not ready to take on short haired roles yet, I took the liberty of taking the photo ops. Here's how my frames rolled in my plain old 'Digicam' (my bestfriend)... ^_^
