Sailor Venus (Sailormoon Soldiers)

 

     An alter ego of a Tokyo fictional celebrity, Minako Aino, Sailor Venus was the first senshi (soldier) to be awakened. Sailor Venus, who was first dubbed Sailor V, realized her senshi mission when she was 13 through the white sailor cat, Artemis. She is a reincarnation of the Love and Beauty Goddess, Venus. Her power centers on various strong light beams much as her planet representation.

     Sailor Venus is famous both ways, as Mina and Sailor V. With her real life identity, she is a much adored recording artist famous for her songs in Tokyo, Japan. All Sailormoon, Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury are avid fans of hers. Her personality as Sailor V also mystified them. As Sailor V, she helps ordinary citizens by her heroic deeds which made her known as well; specially catching burglars.

     Earlier in the series, the sailor senshis, including Sailormoon, and the Dark Kingdom thought of her as the Moon Princess as she disguised herself into one. This was to protect the real Moon Princess, Sailormoon, from the attacts of the Dark Kingdom. Her primary mission is to take care of Princess Serenity, carried on by her reincarnation Sailormoon, since she have sworn this from her first life. (She died from the first life protecting Princess Serenity during the war of the Earth and Moon. This was when she killed Queen Beryl, the evil leader of the Dark Kingdom, herself.)

     I don't personally have the singing voice of Sailor Venus but she was the very first senshi I cosplayed--and it was real fun. The pictures I posted here were taken in Ateneo University, QC last January 28 (during the 2012 Ateneo Fair- Zero:Hour) . I know it's been a while but since I started this blog just recently and I posted my Sailor Mars pics, I just thought of uploading these as well. Mosh mosh Venus fans! ^_^

Oerba Yun Fang

     Okay, I know the pictures aren't clear. But this was my first cosplay and it means a lot to me. Well, literally not the first cosplay but my initial strike at a convention out of school. 

     This was the first time I knew that smiling can be tiring and that you go home with sore feet as a cosplay convention concludes. But at the end of the day, it sums up the fun, exciting and stress releasing part of being a cosplayer.

     This one was held at Robinson's Place, Manila (May of 2009). It was a jam-packed event that facing the people on stage, doing your performance, was really nerve-racking. I joined the "play" part here together with my buddies Kayewarm, Yayi, Carisse, and Justine. We were at the middle of the 4-story shopping mall, where all the people from the base ground to the fourth could see you. Sighs. It pays to know that they do not have an idea who you are. lols. ^_^

"Fang is a mysterious woman who is working with the Sanctum military despite bearing the mark of the detested l'Cie. Strong-minded and disinclined to mince words, she has the demeanor of someone wholly unconcerned by life's trivialities."

     Fang is a character from the game play Final Fantasy and was introduced in version XIII. She shares the same last name with Oerba Dia Vanille, both being from the same village. She is a tall woman with a very fierce personality. She is also very mysterious. Despite that, she is very caring and compassionate from within. She will do everything to protect Vanille, specially for the latter not to become a Cie'th (a monster in FF XIII).

     Physically, she looks like an amazon in a traditional Indian sari wearing tribal accessories. She has earrings of  purple claws, scars on her right arms and shoulders, and has a brand of l'Cie (people chosen to carry out particular orders from the fal'Cie through interpreting their visions) on her right shoulder with an opposite tribal tattoo that somehow resembles her spear. The spear is her choice of weapon. She uses it with real good strength and is famous for her "whirlwind" move.
